What Keyboard Does PewDiePie Use?

The long-reigning self-proclaimed king of YouTube, PewDiePie has captured the hearts of millions of fans worldwide. Known for his relatively minimal lifestyle and down-to-earth commentary as compared to many other game-fluencers, PewDiePie has only recently started selling branded merchandise. This begs the question, what keyboard does PewDiePie use?

PewDiePie uses a Ghost K1 Pro PewDiePie Edition with Gateron Red switches. The keyboard isn’t the fastest out there, but it definitely has one of the most gorgeous designs we’ve seen so far.

PewDiePie’s Keyboard: The Ghost K1 Pro

The Ghost K1 Pro has a translucent, acrylic back following PewDiePie’s signature red wave design. So many YouTube product collaborations tend to just produce generic keyboards that do not have a flair of their own.

For instance, take Clix’s keyboard, it doesn’t really have anything that screams Clix. However, right from the get-go, it’s clear that PewDiePie’s keyboard is quite different in that regard. The K1 Pro features a non-standard steel plate.

The typing experience itself is meh. I mean, at this price point, you’d expect the typing to not bottom out this quickly. Therefore, the typing experience isn’t all that great especially because you can’t change it since there aren’t any readily available plates.

Before we go further into details, here’s a quick look at the keyboard’s specifications:

PewDiePie’s Keyboard

Switches

The K1 Pro only features Gateron Red switches. The spring noise isn’t all that great as it’ll be quite pingy. However, you can change the switches if you want to. The included plate foam and dampeners really help with the overall noise reduction though.

Stabilizers

The keyboard has screw-in stabilizers and not lubed stabilizers. Removing the keys is slightly difficult (the stabilized ones that is.) However, in close inspection, they do come in pre-lubed with it having a very slight coat.

However, there’s an audible difference between lubed and pre-lubed stabilizers and I definitely saw the difference accentuate over here. The design on the keycaps with the wave really looks great. However, there is no texture on any of the keys beside the WASD keys.

Extra Features

The PCB consists of 5-pin hot swaps allowing you to easily lube the switches and change them for something else if you so please. There are 18 lighting options, there really isn’t a lot of light diffusion and instead, the RGB comes out as pin-pointy. This isn’t really a bad thing but it does affect the overall keyboard’s look.

Is The Ghost K1 Pro PewDiePie Worth It?

No, the Ghost K1 Pro is not worth it. If you are a PewDiePie fan, it is a great keyboard due to its styling and acrylics. But, for anyone else, it is obscenely overpriced just like practically any creator keyboard out there. If you want a keyboard with similar specifications and design language, go for the Skyloong 64 GK64 instead.

It features a hot-swappable programmable PCB with adjustable plates and switches alongside multiple RGP lighting modes at a fraction of the price.

Few years back I started to work from home, I needed a keyboard, I researched mechanical keyboard from A to Z. After that I needed a monitor, after that I needed a mouse, after that I needed desk, chair and other accessories. I did so much research and I figured this can't all go to waste and I started writing about what I know. Keyboards, Monitors, Mouses and other accessories.
